Study: Analysis of the bovine intramammary bacteriome and resistome
show Abstracthide Abstract
Bovine intramammary infection caused by pathogenic bacteria is common and well understood, but little is known about the bacteria and their antimicrobial resistance genes present in the mammary gland in healthy and untreated cows. The current study analyzed the bacteria in the mammary gland of healthy cows highlighted the high prevalence and the main bacteria isolated belonging to the Staphylococcaceae family. Thanks to the use of WGS and phenotypic analysis an overview of the antibiotic resistance at the genomic and phenotypic level was done. The research confirm the important rule of the non-aureus staphylococci already isolated at the intramammary level.
